July 24 Kerala Covid Update: Kerala registers 885 new cases and 968 negative cases

After marking two back to back to 1000 plus Covid positive figures, today, Kerala has registered a total of 885 new Covid positive cases. On a positive note, the number of samples that turned negative has outshone the positive figure ad stands at 968. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 16,995, while the state’s total active cases have reached 9,345. A total of 7,564 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 64 are from overseas, while 54 came from other states.

The state has registered 724 cases through transmission in the past 24 hours. Out of those who caught the disease through transmission, the sources of 54 are yet to be traced down. Incidentally, the state has also recorded 4 more Covid death case, taking the tally to 57. Hayarunnissa, Madhavan (both from Kasargode), Murugan (Thiruvananthapuram), and Mariyamma (Alappuzha) have all succumbed to death, and have all found infected with the disease.

Kollam – 133

Pathanamthitta – 23

Idukki – 29

Kottayam – 50

Alappuzha – 44

Ernakulam – 69

Thrissur – 33

Palakkad – 58

Malappuram – 58

Kozhikode – 82

Wayanad – 15

Kannur – 18

Kasargode – 106

Number of people who have turned negative

Thiruvananthapuram – 101

Kollam – 54

Idukki – 96

Kottayam – 74

Alappuzha – 49

Ernakulam – 151

Thrissur – 12

Palakkad – 63

Malappuram – 24

Kozhikode – 66

Wayanad – 21

Kannur – 108

Kasargode – 68

Right now, 1,56,767 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 9,371. During the last 24 hours, Kerala has tested a total of 25,160 samples. The total number of routine samples tested by the state, stands at 3,38,380. Out from the routine samples, the results of 9,185 test results are yet to come. Today, a total of 1,346 people have been admitted to hospitals. The state has a total of 453 hotspots right now.
