During the past 24 hours, a total of 48,661 fresh Covid cases were reported in India. India is inching towards crossing the 14 lakh mark – after the US and Brazil. With last day’s figure, India’s Covid tally has reached a total of 13,85,522 to its credit. The country has also registered 705 new deaths during the last 24 hours. With this, the pandemic has claimed a total of 32,063 lives from India so far. Ministry of Health informs that the active cases in India stands at 4,67,882, whereas a total of 8,85,577 got cured/discharged/migrated.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi continue to lead India’s Corona chart. However, for the past some days Delhi has consistently been showing less number of positive cases. ICMR statistics show that India has tested a total of 1,62,91,331 samples till day, with country testing a 4,42,031 samples last day. This is a record figure, as was informed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. While the government labs have managed to test 3,62,153 samples, private labs tested 79,878 samples – both being record numbers.
