During the past 24 hours, a total of 49,931 fresh Covid cases were reported in India. With this, India has crossed the 14 lakh mark – after the US and Brazil. With last day’s figure, India’s Covid tally stands 14,35,453 to its credit. The country has also registered 708 new deaths during the last 24 hours. With this, the pandemic has claimed a total of 32,771 lives from India so far. Ministry of Health informs that the active cases in India stands at 4,85,114, whereas a total of 9,17,568 got cured/discharged/migrated.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi continue to lead India’s Corona chart. However, for the past some days Delhi has consistently been showing less number of positive cases. ICMR statistics show that India has tested a total of 1,68,06,803 samples till day, with country testing a whopping number of 5,15,472 samples last day. This is the first time that the country’s daily testing has crossed the 5 lakh mark.
