During the past 24 hours, a total of 55,079 fresh Covid cases were reported in India. With this, India’s total Covid tally has crossed the 16 lakh mark. With last day’s figure, India’s Covid tally stands 16,38,871 to its credit. The country has also registered 779 new deaths during the last 24 hours. With this, the pandemic has claimed a total of 35,747 lives from India so far. Ministry of Health informs that the active cases in India stands at 5,45,318, whereas a total of 10,57,806 got cured/discharged/migrated.
It has to be noted that the rate of increase in the active cases is tad low, compared to those who get cured. The recovery rate of the country stands at 64.54%, giving a strong positive note to the country’s fight against Covid 19. ICMR statistics show that India has tested a total of 1,88,32,970 samples till day, with country testing a 6,42,588 samples last day.
