Today, Kerala has registered 193 new Covid positive cases. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 167. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 5,622, while the state’s total active cases have reached 2,252. A total of 3,343 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 92 are from overseas, while 65 came from other states. 35 got the disease through transmission.
During the past two days, two Covid deaths happened in Kerala. Manjeri native Muhammed (87) and Ernakulam native Yusuf (65) succumbed to death.

Right now, 1,83,291 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 2,075. Today, Kerala has tested a total of 9,927 samples – a record figure till date. The total number of samples tested by the state stands at 2,04,452 samples. Results of 4,179 samples are yet to come. The number of tests conducted as part of the sentinel surveillance, stands at 60,006, out of which 57,804 have turned negative. Today, a total of 384 people have been admitted to hospitals. Right now, Kerala has a total of 157 hotspots.
