After a gap of five days, today Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has finally addressed the press meet. He informed that Kerala has added 83 new positive cases today. On the other hand, the number of negative cases stands at 62. A total of 64 cases are for those who came from; of these, 27 are from overseas. 37 came from other states, while 14 got the disease through transmission. 5 health workers turned positive through transmission. The state also recorded a death, VK Muhammed, a native of Iritty, Kannur.
With today’s report, the total number of cases in the state has risen to 2244. 986 were treated, while the state has got 1258 active cases right now. The number of new Covid cases in the state, with the district wise break up is as follows,

Kerala has tested a total of 5,044 samples during the past 24 hours. 1,03,757 samples have been tested till date. Results of 2,873 samples are yet to come.
A total of 2,18,949 people are under observation, out of which 1922 are admitted to hospitals. Today, a total of 231 people are admitted to hospitals. From today onwards, new containment zones will be announced before midnight.
