During the past 24 hours, India has recorded 12,881 new positive cases, which took the country’s total Covid tally to 3,66,946. On the other hand, with 334 more death tolls, the pandemic has claimed 12,237 lives from India. According to the latest figures, India has a total of 1,60,384 active cases, while 1,94,325 have recovered from Covid 19. With 1,16,752 reported cases and 5,651 death tolls, Maharashtra continues to be the most affected state in India. Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bengal and Madhya Pradesh too have suffered quite massively, with more than 10,000 Covid cases being reported.
While several studies report that India hasn’t entered the peak stage of Covid cases, the government might be looking forward to tighten the norms.
