In line with the earlier protesting movements, CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran has turned down the proposed Athirappilly Hydro Electricity Project. Ridiculing Ministry of Electricity, MM Mani by terming the minister over ambitious, Kanam maintained that CPI would never given sanction to the project. He further added that Athirappilly hydel project was never part of the election agenda put forwarded by the government.
Earlier, last day, MM Mani had lashed out against those who criticized the Athirappilly Hydro Electricity project. He went onto state that the government would never back off from the project. It was yesterday, that the state government had given NOC to KSEB for starting the project.
