The complaint is that they were taken to places like Cherkala, Kasaragod, Mangaluru and Thrissur and were tortured individually and in groups. The girl disclosed the shocking details of the torture during the counseling conducted when she sought treatment at the hospital due to health and mental problems caused by the continuous torture. Subsequently, the Kasaragod Women’s Police registered a case and further investigation was handed over to the District Crime Branch.
So far, six cases have been taken in connection with the series of harassment. According to the police, there are 18 accused in the cases and the remaining accused will be arrested in the coming days.
