Forty-fifth Kerala Critics Awards announced. The Great Indian Kitchen, directed by Geo Baby, has been declared the best film of 2020. The film is produced by Dijo Augustine, Jomon Jacob, Vishnu Rajan and Sajin Raj. Siddharth Siva, who directed ‘and’, is the best director. Prithviraj and Biju Menon shared the Best Actor award for their performance in Sachi directed Ayyappan and Koshy. Surabhi Lakshmi won the Best Actress award for her performance in Jwalamukhi and Samyuktha Menon won the Best Actress award for her performance in Male and Woman, Water and Wolf.
This is the only film award in Kerala that invites applications after the state awards and is judged by a jury. The awards were announced by Dr. George Onakkoor, President of the Association and Chairman of the Jury. The jury members were Thekkinkad Joseph, Balan Thirumala, Dr. Aravindan Vallachira, Prof. Joseph Mathew Pala, Suku Palkulangara and A. Chandrasekhar. A total of 34 films were considered by the jury.
