In a major development plan by the Indian Railways, Kerala will have fresh hopes in terms of high-class travel via rails.
One of the major proposals in the action plan is to facelift three railway stations with airport-like amenities like shopping area, cafeteria, waiting room, multi-storied vehicle parking facility, Wi-Fi. Ernakulam Town, Ernakulam Junction and Kollam will have airport-like facelift.
At the same time, Thrissur and Chengannur will have a revamp and Nemom station will be converted to satellite stations.
This comes at a time when the ambitious semi high-speed railway project—SilverLine – is pending approval from the Railway Board.
