Toll collection on Kollam bypass road will start at 8 am today. The toll plaza is located at Kavanad Kurippuzha. Preparations for the toll collection had been completed earlier but were postponed as per the directions of the district administration. The construction of the bypass road will cost `352 crore. The Central and State Governments shared the cost equally. The toll collection will be reduced to 40% once the central government’s share is collected. It will then be renewed annually.
Private Pass for Rs. 285 / – per month for private vehicle owners residing within 20 km of Toll Plaza.
Vehicles returning within 24 hours of payment will be charged 50% off one way fare.
All vehicles can cross the toll 50 times from the date of payment of the respective month.
വാഹ Vehicles carrying more weight than allowed will have to pay ten times the fee. The highway will only be allowed to be used if the excess weight is removed.

Vehicles with seven or more axles: 155, 235, 5200, 80.
