One of the best Indian films ‘Lagaan’ completed 21 years of its release on Wednesday. And to celebrate the moment, Aamir Khan will reunite with the whole Lagaan team at his home in Mumbai.
Helmed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, ‘Lagaan’ became only the second film after ‘Mother India’ in India’s history to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. The popularity of the film continues to remain the same even after 21 years.
‘Lagaan’ follows the story of Bhuvan (Aamir), a villager from Champaner, Gujarat, who is challenged by an arrogant British officer, played by Paul Blathorne, to a game of cricket, as a wager to avoid paying the taxes (lagaan) they owe.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ on August 11.
