Several eastern regions of the Kollam district experienced low intense tremors on Tuesday in places including Pathanapuram, Nilamel and Kottarakkara.
From Tuesday noon, heavy showers have been recorded in the eastern parts of Kollam. The earthquake was felt at 11.37 pm after the rainfall. However, exact accuracy of intensity were not obtained to the officials.
The weather department has said that rain will continue in Kollam in the coming days.
