A young man died of snakebite while playing with a poisonous snake during the New Year celebrations. A friend who came to the hospital with a snake bite was also bitten. The incident took place on Saturday night in Cuddalore. Manikandan died while celebrating New Year with his friends.
When the celebration reached its peak, a snake crawled through it. Manikandan took the snake saying it was a New Year gift. Manikandan, who played with the snake in his hand and waved it at the locals, was told by his friends that it was dangerous. Manikandan, who was drunk, did not listen to it.
Soon the snake bit him and Manikandan collapsed. He was taken to the hospital but could not be saved. The bitten snake was put in a bag and taken to the hospital. His friend Kapilan was also bitten by a snake in the hospital. Kapilan is undergoing treatment at Cuddalore Government Hospital.
