Actress Surabhi Lakshmi, who rescued a man and assisted him to a hospital on Tuesday night, died on Thursday.
Mustafa, a Pattambi native, was under treatment at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, after he suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed while he was searching for his mentally disturbed wife and their child in Kozhikode.
Mustafa was accompanied by two of his friends and his younger child, but they could not drive. Surabhi was returning home after an Iftaar when she came across the incident.
In a quick action, Surabhi alerted the control room of the vicinity and even accompanied them to the medical college.
His wife and their elder child was found by the police. The police provided food to the woman and the child in the police station. The police collected the phone number of the man and rang him up. However, before informing about his wife and child, the phone ran out of battery.
After admitting the man to the hospital, Surabhi took the younger child to the police station. The mother quickly identified her child and they were safely escorted home by the police.
