Malayalam film industry is going through a tumultuous time period, arguably one of its worst phases in this regard. The actress abduction case is still hinging without reaching anywhere, and it has polarized the industry and has given way for the formation of WCC (Women in Collective Cinema), who wanted justice to be delivered for the abducted actress. However, in reply to WCC, AMMA has formed an insider committee of itself in the form of AMMA Women’s Cell Grievance Forum. The committee is aimed at hearing the grievances of women working in the film industry.
Meanwhile, it is now reported that the organization has invited Manju Warrier for being part of the committee. Though the actress is yet to make any official statement regarding this, industry insiders state that the actress had turned down the invitation made by AMMA Women’s Cell Grievance Forum. The committee is consisted of the following members: Lakshmi Gopalaswami, Asha Sarath, Swetha Menon and Jagadish, while Adv. Preethi Ramakrishnan forms the sole non – industry member of the committee. The committee which is of temporary in nature, will disburse after December 9th – the date, on which AMMA starnight will come to an end.
