After initial hiccups, the Indian stock markets ended up on a gaining note. Sensex finished the day’s trading at 33780.89, marking an increase of 242.52 points from last day. The closing figure of Nifty stands at 9972.90, an increase of 70.90 from yesterday. A total of 1224 companies in BSE have managed to end the day’s trade, by gaining some, while 1226 reported loss. 150 companies maintained ‘no change’ status.

Earlier on the day, when the trading began, Sensex started off with a loss of 700 points, which worsened as it further shed 1433 points.
