A railway employee died after being hit by a MEMU train on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as railway keyman Sunil Kumar (51), a native of Chavara.
The incident took place around 9.20 am at the railway gate near Kandachira – Chathinamkulam road. Reportedly, Sunil Kumar was tightening the bolts of the railway track when the mishap happened.
The accident was not reported by the loco pilot of MEMU, following which a guard of Chennai Mail, which passed through at 9.40 am, informed the matter at Kollam railway station.
