Vishnu Mohan’s directorial debut ‘Meppadiyan’ starring Unni Mukundan in the lead, was a brilliant success at the box office for its easy telling of a common man’s life. It was also the first film under the banner of Unni Mukundan Films Private Limited (UMF). The film’s thriller episode garnered rave reviews from the audience and also called Meppadiyan the best film of Unni Mukundan so far.
The film is now streaming on OTT Amazon Prime and will have its World Television Premiere on Amritha Tv on April 15, on the occasion of Vishu. Meppadiyan and the team are now in high spirits after its 100 days of journey and the team had its success celebration at IMA Hall, Kaloor, Kochi on Monday.
The news of their success was shared by actor and producer Unni Mukundan through his official Facebook page. At the same time, the actor also announced his second production venture from UMF, Shafeekinte Santhosham, which will kick-start from April 16.
Unni Mukundan wrote, “And we celebrated the 100 beautiful days journey of Meppadiyan last night. After having a fantastic run in the theatres, we had even better responses after it’s OTT release, we are getting the feedbacks even now. This 15th, we are having our World Television Premiere on Amrita TV. I have to thank everyone who made it possible for us. Achan presented me with my memento! We as a team fought our own battle and I’m glad we could celebrate our victory. Thanking the entire team that made Meppadiyan the film, the best of its kind. And I truly believe that this team deserved this pat on its back. Thanking all the actors, technicians, production team, promotion team and everyone who has been a part of this beautiful film. Meppadiyan also features Kottayam Ramesh, Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese, Anju Kurian Nisha Sarang and Kalabhavan Shajohn in lead roles. The songs and background score for the film was composed by Rahul Subrahmanian. Vishnu Mohan and Unni Mukundan will team up again for ‘Pappa’, a political genre.
