Microsoft is reportedly working on Polaris, the lighter version of Windows 10. The system is going to be powered by Windows Core OS and CShell. Essentially aimed at consumer focused PCs and desktops, Polaris is expected to be market ready by 2019. Well, existing Windows users might not be able to upgrade to Polaris.
Going in line with reports, Polaris is believed to be utilizing only UWP, thereby reducing the size of the OS. However, Polaris would deliver better performance as far as battery life and security features are concerned with. The latest outing from Windows however won’t be able to run desktop apps natively. Polaris, by all likeness might debut on Microsoft ARM powered PCs.
