Mahila Morcha National Council member and Manjeswaram block panchayat member ML Ashwini is surprised to be BJP candidate in Kasargod constituency. Kasargod is a constituency contested by senior leader O Rajagopal to state president K Surendran. The name of PK Krishnadas, a member of the National Executive Committee, was the first to be heard in the constituency. The district leadership was also expecting names of prominent leaders. In the meantime, Ashwini has been nominated as a candidate, shocking even the leadership. He is a native of Madananayakahalli, Bengaluru. A nursery teacher, she entered active politics in 2021. He contested for the block panchayat for the first time. He was elected today with 807 votes. The victory was from Kadambar Division. At the same time, with the announcement, Ashwani has also become the first woman candidate to seek popular vote for the BJP in the Kasaragod Lok Sabha constituency.

Ashwini responded to Manorama that she never once expected to be a candidate and she is a good example of BJP giving seats to even ordinary party workers to contest big elections like Lok Sabha elections if they have sincerity and ability. Ashwini said that she will seek votes in the constituency by upholding development issues. After the Narendra Modi government came to power in the country, there has been a great development in the country. But even a fraction of it has not been implemented in Kasaragod constituency. The main reason for that is the left-right fronts. She said that the failure of the current MP and the anti-people policies of the state government will be discussed in the election.
