Superstar Mohanlal inaugurated the Regional Film Festival of Kerala (RIFFK) 2022 organized by Chalachithra Academy in Kochi as a continuation of the Kerala International Film Festival on Friday in Kochi.
The inauguration ceremony was held in Saritha Theatre, Ernakulam. Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian presided over the function and writer NS Madhavan was the chief guest.
TJ Vinod MLA, Kochi Mayor M Anil Kumar, Organizing Committee Chairman Director Joshi, Chalachithra Academy Chairman Ranjith, Secretary C Ajoy, Vice Chairman Prem Kumar and Artistic Director Beena Paul were present on the occasion.

The five-day long regional festival of the IFFK will screen 68 movies shown at IFFK. The opening movie of RIFFK was ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’. The films will be screened in Saritha, Savitha and Kavitha theatres in Kochi.
Clara Sola, directed by Nathalie Alvarez Mesen, has won the Suvarna Chakoram award for the Best Film at IFFK Thiruvananthapuram. Ines Barrionuevo’s Camila Comes Out Tonight which helped him win the Rajata Chakoram award for Best Director and the Tamil movie Koozhangal, which bagged the Audience Poll award and NETPAC award for Best Asian Film at IFFK, will be screened in Kochi.
