Superstar Mohanlal will inaugurate the Regional International Film Festival (RIFFK) organized by the Kerala State Film Academy in Kochi from April 1 to 5.

Culture, Fisheries and Youth Affairs Minister Saji Cherian will preside over the function, which will be held on April 1 at 9 am at the Saritha Theater. Prominent writer NS Madhavan will be the chief guest at the function.
TJ Vinod MLA will release the festival’s handbook. Kochi Mayor M. Anil Kumar will release the festival’s bulletin.

Chairman of the organizing committee Joshy, Chairman of Chalachithra Akademi Renjith, Secretary C Ajoy, Vice Chairman Prem Kumar and Artistic Director Beena Paul will also be present for the occasion. After the ceremony, ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’, a joint venture between Bangladesh, Singapore and Qatar, will be screened as the inaugural film.
The festival, which will be held at Saritha, Savita and Kavitha theaters, will screen over 70 notable films from the 26th IFFK.
As part of the festival, an exhibition of film-related photographs of Siva, the early press photographer and still photographer of ‘Chemeen’ and a digital display of pages from Anoop Ramakrishnan’s Fellowship essay on the history of title design in Malayalam cinema will be organized.
