Ahead of the elections on Tuesday, the Kerala government has declared holiday for all the educational institutions in the state on Monday. However, the day remains working day for the government offices. Earlier, the Election Commission had asked the govt. to declare holiday for all the educational institutions on Monday, on the ground of most schools being polling stations.
It must also be noted that govt. decided to ease the situation of students, who wanted to poll on Tuesday, but would find the travel on Monday to be hectic.
