In 2010, the bedroom scenes of the actress aired by a Tamil channel created a lot of controversy. Nityananda Swamy was present with Ranjitha in the video. Both claimed that the video was fake, but later it was confirmed that it was of Nityananda and Ranjitha. Ranjitha had filed a complaint in the Karnataka High Court against the news channels that aired her bedroom footage. Later, the actress took sannyasa under Nityananda and the two lived together as partners. Last year, a website related to Nityananda titled ‘Nityanandamayi Swamy’ was displayed with Ranjitha’s picture. Moreover, the actress currently holds the title of Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Hindu state of Kailash. Meanwhile, Ranjitha had spoken in an interview about the news that came up in her name.
“The media ridiculed my dignity. I am not a rich housewife. My father is not a businessman. Being a normal middle class girl, I could not come out of that incident. Even in the case related to that, my father could not save me. Thinking about this problem, I came to the decision to commit suicide. And since there was no one to look after the family but me, I was withdrawing from it. When I was an actress, the world was just shooting and books. I became calm and matured by reading books. However, the pain caused by that bitter experience is unbearable. My husband also broke up with me because of it. He couldn’t stand what happened to me. Everything has a limit. I could not resist him either.
