In a big relief to the power couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, the Ministry of Health gave a clean chit in the surrogacy row. Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan tied the knot in June this year and on October 9 the couple announced that they are parents of two children.
The state government set up a probe to inquire if the couple had abided by all the regulations enforced by the Indian surrogacy laws.
According to reports, the couple had registered their marriage six years ago and documents verifying the same were submitted. The surrogate mother is a relative of Nayanthara and she was married with a child and had followed all the rules.
The committee in its report stated that Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara registered their marriage on March 11, 2016, and added that the couple has followed all the guidelines under the Indian surrogacy laws. The report also said that they have submitted all legal documents required under the ICMR rules.
The report also claimed that the committee found that the embryo was formed in August 2020 through cesarean and in November 2020, the surrogate mother had signed the required documents.
