A panel appointed by the HRD Ministry, will submit the report on new ‘National Education Policy’ on March 31. The report, which will be then discussed at Union Cabinet for approval, is meant for revamping the educational system of the country. Commenting on the New Policy, the HRD Ministry stated that the current education system badly needed a change. The Ministry further commented that the present education system has got a colonial face.
Speaking about the policy, Union Minister Satyapal Singh maintained that the govt. would be setting up a world class education system. The existing National Policy on Education came into effect from 1992. It was after revising the 1986 NPE, which the 1992 policy came into effect.
