The Covid test conducted on the dead bodies of the newlywed couple from Alappuzha revealed that, the wife Devika Das (20) was Covid positive. However, the samples of Jithin (30) turned negative. Authorities are yet to find the source, from which she caught the disease. Earlier, it was after on Tuesday that the newlywed couple was found dead in their rent house near Chennithala Mahatma School. While Jithin was found hanging, Devika was found dead on the bed.
Jithin and Devika entered wedlock two years ago. Back then, when Devika fled with Jithin, Kurathikkad Police had registered a case against Jithin, since Devika hadn’t attained legal age to get married. However, after completing her remaining term as minor at Mahila Manidram in Alappuzha, Devika married Jithin. Two suicide notes were found from the spot, which mentioned about the financial struggle.
