THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is no fee hike in government approved unaided schools in the state this year as the financial sector is facing serious challenges following the Covid pandemic. Recognized School Management Association made this decision in view of the financial difficulties of parents, despite schools being in crisis. Funds management will be found, although changes will be made to the curriculum and infrastructure over time.

Following the announcement of the lockdown in the state, the recognized schools are following the instructions of the state government in the Covid defense. KRSMA, the sole body of the Govt recognized school’s management, has already decided not to raise the fee this year even without government directives. The decision was made following the realization that the economic crisis that has hit the state following the lockdown is affecting the income of the parents. The Management Association said it would take steps to reduce learning costs.

According to the Kerala Association for the Unaided School Management (KRSMA), the only approved organization of 1137 recognized unaided schools in the state. “The new uniforms and textbooks will not be mandatory for children,” PK Mohammed Haji, state president of the Association said.

In the fight against Covid 19, the state’s unaided schools have pledged their support to the government. Many unaided schools were left for observation centers. The leaders also noted that the organization is actively involved in community support activities.
