In an appalling incident, a 45-year-old woman died after being administered the wrong injection for fever at Kozhikode Medical College. The deceased has been identified as Sindhu of Koodaranji.
The relatives of the deceased alleged that the nurse injected the wrong medicine. Sindhu was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday following a fever. After initial treatment, she was shifted to the ward. The medicine that was administered yesterday was not given today which is a serious lapse from the nurse.
According to the family, the patient who was in normal condition, soon collapsed after the injection was given. Her relatives said the colour of the body changed and foam came from her mouth. The nurse was talking on the phone while giving injection to the patient.
The medical college police have registered a case in the incident.
