Ola has launched a new initiative ‘My Ride My Cause’ on its platform. The initiative, which is meant for raising fund and supporting social causes, is been partnered with Alamelu Charitable Foundation (ACF). By teaming up with ACF (A Tata Trusts initiative), Ola would provide its customers an option of contributing INR 1 per ride. The fund received thus, would be used for the betterment of cancer patients in the country.
While launching the initiative, Ola company officials maintained that, the crowdsource support initiative would unify Ola customers for a single cause. The initiative could prove quite effective, since the country lacks adequate infrastructure, skilled human resources to combat cancer.
