Payyambalam Beach of the Kannur city witnessed an extravagant evening on Thursday. The native people of Kannur attended the event with their families. Omar Lulu, the notable director of the new generation of Malayalam cinema, was giving them a visual treat to enjoy to the fullest.
During the event, Omar Lulu launched his new upcoming film ‘Powerstar’ starring Babu Antony. The film was given a ‘switch-on’ by the public officially.
Omar Lulu gave a start that was completely different from the usual way of cinema. The tag line of this movie itself is added as Mass Action Movie. It was also a massive start to the movie presented with public participation.
The cast and crew of the film were present at the function which was attended by Kannur Corporation Chairman T.O. Mohanan, who was also the chief guest.
The switch-on of the film was done by the public who showed their mobile flash and Babu Antony gave the first clap.
According to Omar Lulu, Powerstar will be the comeback film for the action hero Babu Antony. The story is based on cocaine smuggling in Karnataka and popular Sandalwood actors have been roped in to play pivotal roles in the film, as per sources.
Omar Lulu said on stage that directing a film based on the screenplay by Dennis Joseph, who has always been a source of amazement, was the big desire of his life. Omar said he was “very happy” that his dream had come true despite his absence.
