Thiruvananthapuram: Omicron JN1 has again been confirmed in the state. Four people have been newly diagnosed with the disease. Earlier, one person was infected in Thiruvananthapuram.
It is a subtype of Omicron virus. The JN1 variant spreads much faster than the variants currently found in India, including XBB.
Studies show that this highly proliferative variant can overcome acquired immunity. Therefore, this virus will affect those who have recovered from the disease of Kovid and those who have received the vaccine.

It is estimated that most of the newly reported cases of covid in the world are JN1 variant. The virus was first detected in the United States in September.
Symptoms of JN1 are similar to other variants. Health experts say that the symptoms include fever, cold and headache. Symptoms become more pronounced within four to five days.
Keeping social distance, wearing a mask, washing hands frequently, maintaining hygiene, and those with symptoms should be tested without delay, etc. We can beat this virus too by being careful without fear.
