Chidabaram film is based on the real incident.
In 2006
The film tells the story of a group of friends who came together to save their friend who got caught in the Guna Cave while traveling to Kodaikanal.
Best comment about the film anywhere. Now director Shaji Kailas is praising the film and adding it to his own experience.
In an emotional note, Shaji Kailas remembers the memory of his brother who died after falling in a dam while going on a tour with his friends.
Cinema is not only visible literature but also visible life. In a note shared on social media with a photo of Shaji Kailas Chetan, the movie 'Manjummal Boys' is a green expression of that life that is falling apart.
Full version of Shaji Kailash's note-
It was MT sir who described the screenplays as literature that can be seen through life-touching cinema. This adjective also applies to movies. Cinema is not only visible literature but also visible life.
The film 'Manjummal Boys' is a green expression of that life that falls apart. That film, which was taken over by millions of viewers, is a personal memory for me. It is the still-undry stretch of separation.
I was in 10th grade. One day some friends came to the house looking for father. I hear them say something aside from Dad. I also see my father leaving with them in a hurry.
I didn't understand anything. After a while, a small crowd formed in the backyard. It slowly began to grow. By nightfall, the courtyard was full of people. Everyone is silent. There was only thick silence everywhere.
Father came back late. My father hugged me and cried. I am seeing my father cry for the first time. My eyes also filled with tears.
I understand the information later. My elder brother who went on tour with his friends…
They went to Agastyarkuta. While coming down from Malakand, he slipped and fell into the dam. Friends who were with him tried to save his elder brother. could not Father's hopes were drowned in the cold water of the dam. My house suddenly became a house of death.
Only those who have experienced it know how great is the pain of losing their loved ones. Manjummal Boys made me feel the depth of that pain once again.
Its brilliant crew has proved that cinema is also an art of experience. That is why the audience forgets that this is a movie. For them, it is a direct view of a direct experience that occurred at some point in their own lives.
The entire audience stood up and clapped for that sight. I'm one of those people, except that when I clap, I get teary-eyed.
The friends of Manjummal Boys managed to save their friend. Similarly, if my Etan could have been saved that day… Etan's friends tried their best that day. Still couldn't, luck didn't help.
Watching this movie reminded me of those days again. He remembered his father's cry. He remembered that silent night when no one spoke to each other.
Don't know how to appreciate the crew of Manjummal Boys. Such a good movie. May you still go far. Let your movies breathe life into you. May it bring tears to someone's eyes, may it blow minds, may you reach greater heights.
