All the parties are now in a big discussion regarding the election. Now here is a section of the Congress demanding that Oommen Chandy's youngest daughter Achu Oommen contest in the Lok Sabha elections in Kottayam. Kottayam is traditionally the seat contested by the Kerala Congress M. Some Congress leaders are demanding that the party should take over the seat and field Achu Oommen in the event that Jos K Mani's faction has left the front. Yes, Joseph Kootam also clarified that the Kottayam seat will not be given away under any circumstances. The party's move is to field Francis George in the constituency. The Kerala Congress high power committee will meet next week to decide the candidate. The UDF has also agreed to give the seat to the Joseph faction itself.

On the other hand, the Joseph Group has a big responsibility to regain the Kottayam seat lost due to the change of front of the Kerala Congress M. In the bipartisan discussion held within the front, the UDF has also given instructions to build consensus within the party and to be very careful in matters including candidate selection. The first phase of the discussions of the Congress with the constituent parties of the UDF regarding the division of seats in the Lok Sabha elections has been completed. The small parties in the front, CMP and Forward Bloc, have demanded that they do not want seats in the Lok Sabha and should be considered for the Rajya Sabha instead. Even though the Muslim League is raising the demand for three seats, the Congress is of the opinion that it cannot be given this time. Apart from Malappuram and Ponnani, the league wants one more seat in the Malabar region itself. If Rahul Gandhi does not contest, the league is pushing to demand the Wayanad seat. That or Kannur, Vadakara is the demand of the league.
