Our light has gone out
State Secretary of Communist Party of India Kanam Rajendran has left us. The sudden demise of dear comrade is too much to bear. He had been plagued by health problems for the past few days, but he held on to the willpower to brave his illness. All of us had the good hope that he would come back with more health and strength after all the present physical handicaps.
From the time he came into the public arena through the student-youth movement, Comrade Kanam has stood by him like an elder brother and given advice. Having been a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly at a very young age, his experience and advice have greatly benefited me as an MLA and later as a Minister.
Comrade Kanam also played an extraordinary role in leading the party forward with closeness and order. We have lost one of the most popular leaders alive today in India.
We have the burning memories of the comrade who lived for the party till his last breath and has passed us by, strength and enthusiasm. Tribute to dear comrade.
