Former Chief Minister K. Karunakaran's daughter Padmaja Venugopal has confirmed that her husband Dr. Venugopal will leave the Congress and join the BJP. He said that he has seen Padmaja suffering from the huge neglect she has received from the party and that is why she has taken this decision. Whatever decision Padmaja takes, I always support it. I do not comment on this politically. They were also upset over the delay in the construction of the K. Karunakaran memorial. Many opposed it. There was no decision to change politics earlier.
