A pandal erected for the science fair at Bekur Government Higher Secondary School at Manjeswaram in Kasaragod, collapsed on Friday. According to reports, 40 people were injured in the accident.
Five people with head injuries were shifted to a private hospital in Mangalore. Four children and a teacher are undergoing treatment here.
Children, teachers and non-teaching staffs were involved in the accident.
Some of the children who ran seeing the pandal collapsing fell on the ground and sustained injuries. There were three pandals in the school courtyard. Two were made of cloth and the other with sheet. The one with the sheet collapsed.
