PhonePe, a subsidiary of Flipkart, has launched a low cost Point of Sale (PoS) device, which is backed by Bluetooth technology. Priced at INR 699, this calculator like device is something which is sure to be preferred by many, considering the rate of a regular PoS device, which stands at INR 5,000.
While launching the device, PhonePe officials stated that the first round of devices was manufactured abroad. However, PhonePe has plans to set up manufacturing centers in Hyderabad and Bangalore. As per the details provided by the company officials, the battery of the device is capable of continually running for 8 to 12 months.
