Kozhikode: BJP state president K. Surendran said that Pinarayi Vijayan has become a chief minister who kills the poor. Surendran was talking to journalists after visiting the body of differently-abled Joseph, who committed suicide in Kozhikode after not getting welfare pension.
Due to the suspension of welfare pensions in the state, the incident of poor people committing suicide has become common. In five months, three people committed suicide due to the negligence of the government.
Pinarayi Vijayan became the Chief Minister who killed the poor. K Surendran also alleged that despite warning of suicide, no action was taken by the panchayat or the government.
K Surendran said that tens of thousands are suffering in Kerala without getting welfare pensions and guaranteed wages.

The central government is giving proper money for the employment guarantee scheme. But the state does not pay the share.
K Surendran said that the problem here is that the state is failing to deliver the money given by the central government to the deserving people.
K Surendran also alleged that the government, which has no money to pay the welfare pension to the poor, is not stopping the waste and looting.
An Alappuzha rice farmer committed suicide because he did not get the state share of rice. Despite the 75 percent share given by the Centre, Kerala did not allocate the share, so the farmers were denied even the central share.
K Surendran also alleged that the dairy farmer of Kannur committed suicide because he did not get the state allocation for dairy farmers.
Joseph’s suicide should be thoroughly investigated. K. Surendran said that the negligence of the authorities has been made clear in the suicide note.
