Health Minister KK Shailaja has come up with some heavy criticism on the protest that was staged at Poonthura, Thiruvananthapuram, today morning. Health Minister maintained that instances like this cannot be encouraged, as this would be belittling the effort of health workers are selflessly engaged in protecting the public. Minister also said that she suspects the presence of some conspiracy behind the mass protest staged by people, defying all the lockdown measures.
While addressing the issue, Minister said that there was a propaganda against the authenticity of antigen test, being conducted in Poonthura. Asserting that antigen test is not less in value than PCR tests, as the former is convenient and delivers result in half an hour. Assuring that the result received from antigen test cannot be overlooked, Minister informed that after July 6th, as many as 243 new cases were detected from Poonthura – something that points at the dangerous position, at which the place is in.
