‘The Queen of Indian track and field’, PT Usha arrived in New Delhi on Monday after accepting nomination to the Rajya Sabha.
The Olympian was welcomed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by MP and BJP former Delhi president Manoj Tiwari. BJP workers felicitated her with a shawl and bouquet.
Usha said the nomination was a recognition to the sports field and expressed her happiness. She will take oath as Rajya Sabha member on Wednesday. Usha was also accompanied by her husband V Sreenivasan.
