The state has commenced its preparation for the SSLC – Higher Secondary Examination. Special arrangements will be made for students in Containment Zones. For those who cannot write the exam now, there will be regular exam along with the Say exam. Firefighters were asked to disinfect the schools. It has also been decided to supply thermal scanners at 2945 examination centers from local bodies and primary health centers.

Around 13 lakh students are expected to appear for the SSLC, Higher Secondary and VHSC examinations. The government has proposed to make arrangements so that all schools can ensure the security measurements before which the exams commences. SSLC has 2945 centers, while higher secondary has 2032 and VHSC has 389 examination centers respectively. If needed, additional exam centers would be added.

Separate centers or classrooms will be provided for students arriving from the containment zones. Every school would have a thermal scanner. Schools with more than 500 children may have to install two thermal scanners. These will be brought from local bodies and primary health centers. The sanitizer and mask should be purchased by the respective schools. The government has asked the education department to be vigilant from the 26th.

Meanwhile, the video conference chaired by the higher education minister K.T. Jaleel discussed the situation with Vice Chancellors. As an outcome from the conference, it was then decided that the college/university examinations would have to be conducted strictly in accordance with the instructions of the Health Department, while priority would be given to the final year exams.
