The proposed ‘Hyperloop’ concept is going to be materialized even earlier than the proposed plans. The child of the grand vision of Elon Musk, the ‘Hyperloop’ track is reportedly going to make its presence felt first in India. In fact, India is touted to be the first country to have the ‘Hyperloop’ track, with Pune – Mumbai route going to be the first one to have it.
If materialized, the ‘Hyperloop’ track would enable travelling from Pune to Mumbai in less than 25 minutes, as opposed to the 3 hour journey in present times. The US based firm, Virgin Group has reportedly signed an agreement with Maharashtra govt. for building a ‘Hyperloop’ system between Mumbai and Pune. With ‘Hyperloop’ yet to be made commercially available anywhere in the world, the US group is going to conduct a feasibility study here in India in the next six months.
