Kochi: Students rejected the argument that the cause of the Cusat tragedy was due to landslides due to rain. According to the students, the delay in opening the gate to get inside for the program led to the accident. The students said that when the gate was opened, everyone pushed in and it caused danger.
There was not much rain. But because the celebrity came, it was very crowded. It was late to let people inside. There was an attempt to open the gate. Then when the gate was opened, there was a rush. It is a step that slopes downwards. An eyewitness student says that when the push came, several people fell down.
A student said that he somehow escaped through the side. There is only one gate to enter and exit the theater where the performance takes place. Those standing on the steps beyond the gate were falling down in the stampede, and more people were falling above them. The students were kicked and suffocated to death.

The initial conclusion is that the unscientific venue and lack of crowd control system caused the disaster at Kusat. The incident happened around 7 pm yesterday. Atul Thampi, a native of Koothatukulam, Ann Roof, a native of North Paravur, Sara Thomas, a native of Thamarassery, and Albin Joseph, a native of Palakkad Mundur, who is not a student of CUSAT, have died.
Four students were seriously injured. Two of them were shifted to a private hospital. One of them is in critical condition.
