‘1921 Puzha Muthal Puzha Vare’ is a film that tells the story of ‘Variyan Kunath Kunjahammad Haji’ in the background of the Malabar riots.’
The film was made by forming an association called Mamadharma and accepting donations from people. Thalaivasal Vijay plays the role of Variyan Kunath Kunjahammad Haji.
“After seeing the film, the censor board of Kerala, of which Parvathy is a member, sent the film to the Higher Committee in Mumbai. Some scenes were deleted. The Bombay censor board has given permission to screen the film with an ‘A’ certificate. But the Kerala censor board was not satisfied with it. They re-submitted the movie to the higher authority. The Bombay censor board has again given permission to screen the film with the changes made earlier. The film will be released after Onam,” he said.
