Ramayanam to Telecast again in Doordarshan | Time Schedule: Doordarshan is all set to reprise the Ramayana in 2020 which was the most popular serial decades ago. The announcement was made by Union Information and Communication Minister Prakash Javadekar on Twitter. “This is a constant demand of the people,” the minister said on Twitter. The broadcast will begin on Saturday. The serial can be seen on DD National from 9am to 10pm and 9pm to 10pm.
Earlier, Presara Bharati Bharti sources had hinted that the Ramayana was being telecast. In a tweet by NDTV Political Editor Akhilesh Sharma, Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Ramayana said that the company is in talks with those who own serial rights. The Union Minister’s tweet demonstrates that this has come to fruition.
The Ramayana was first broadcast by Doordarshan in 1987. Filmmaker Ramananda Sagar is the creator of the series. Similarly, there is a demand that BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharata’ serial be broadcast on Doordarshan
