Good news for Congress and Rahul Gandhi as Bharat Jodo Yatra is about to take place in Jammu and Kashmir. 17 leaders who left the Congress along with Ghulam Nabi Azad returned to the party. The leaders returned to the party on Friday morning. Leaders including former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Tarachand have returned. The leaders returned to the Congress accusing Ghulam Nabi Azad of promoting secular ideas.
Apart from Tarachand, former PCC chief and former minister Peersada Muhammad Sayeed and former MLA Balwan Singh are other notables who have returned to the party. Ghulam Nabi Azad and other leaders left the Congress to join the Democratic Azad Party. They left Congress in August 2022. But Azad had expelled Tarachand and others for engaging in anti-party activities.
Party General Secretary K.C. Venugopal received the leaders. They had gone on vacation and after the vacation they came back. KC Venugopal said. He clarified that the reason they left the Congress was a misunderstanding and he was happy to come back. Tarachand also stated that leaving the Congress was the biggest mistake of his life.
Asked whether Ghulam Nabi Azad will return, KC Venugopal said that anyone who believes in the concept of Bharat Jodo Yatra can join the yatra.
