The 2018 flood that wreaked havoc in Kerala can never be forgotten and now interestingly, the tragedy is being made into a movie. Directed by Jude Antony Joseph, the film will hit the silver screen with the title 2018. It is also the debut film of writer Akhil P Dharmajan.
Actors Fahadh Faasil and Prithviraj Sukumaran shared the title poster of the film on Thursday. The poster has been released with the tag line ‘Everyone is a Hero’ .
The film, which tells the story of the state that survived the flood, has a huge star cast including Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Srinivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Kalai Rasan, Narain, Lal, Indran, Aju Varghese, Thanvi Ram, Sivada and Gauthami Nair.
The poster features an open dam, heavy rains, submerged household appliances, a rescue boat of fishermen, an army helicopter and people standing on terraces trying to escape.

2018 is produced by Venu Kunnappilly, the producer of Mamangam and Malikappuram, along with CK Padmakumar and Anto Joseph. Producer Venu Kunnappilly informed that the same VFX team that worked behind Minnal Murali will be there in ‘2018’ as well. The film will be released under the banner of Kavya Films in association with PK Prime Productions.
